Good to know before you start.
Is DMV Champ a DMV practice test?
Yes, and a bit more. It has every kind of question your state’s DMV knowledge test asks, the written test you pass to get a learner’s permit, and explains each one as you answer. Then 5 simulated exams check you in your state’s exact format.
How many questions are on the DMV permit test?
It depends on your state: from 18 questions in Pennsylvania to 50 in Florida, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Utah and Wisconsin, with a passing score of 70% to 88%. The state pages list every format.
Which states does it cover?
All 50 states and Washington, DC. You choose your state during setup, and the exam simulator uses your state’s number of questions, passing score and time limit. You can change it any time in Settings.
Does it work offline?
You need an internet connection to start a practice or an exam, because the questions are downloaded rather than built into the app. Once you’ve started, a dropped connection never interrupts you.
Is it available in Spanish?
The app is available in English and Spanish. The questions are in English for now, and a Spanish set will arrive as an update to the questions rather than a new version of the app.
Is this an official DMV app?
No. DMV Champ is a study app made by CloudForge. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any Department of Motor Vehicles, state agency or AAMVA. Always check your state’s current handbook for the rules that apply to you.
