What the New Jersey exam looks like
New Jersey’s exam is the longest in the country: no state asks more than 50 questions. You need 80% to pass, which means you can miss 10 questions and still get your permit. There is no time limit, so read every question twice.
The exam is given by the MVC (New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission). Its questions come from the official New Jersey driver’s handbook, which is also where every DMV Champ question is checked.
The same format is used in Florida, Michigan, Utah and Wisconsin.
