We read every message.
The fastest way to reach us is from inside the app. Email works too.
1. How to reach us
In the app, open Settings › Contact us. Pick a topic, write your message and add your email if you’d like a reply. To tell us about a specific question, tap Report a problem on its explanation instead, so the question comes with your message. The link is there wherever you can read an explanation: after you check an answer, on a result page, on a past test, and on a question in Review.
Or email us at contact@cloudforge.fr. Replies come from the same address. Please mention your iPhone model and iOS version if the problem is technical.
2. What a message includes
A message sent from the app carries your words, the topic you picked, your state, and a few facts about your setup: the app version, the iOS version and the device model. A question report also carries the question’s number and the start of its text. Your email address is included only if you type it in. A message never carries your answers or your scores. What the app reports on its own about how it is used is described in the Privacy policy.
3. Common questions
How do I change my state?
Open Settings › State, pick the state and tap Save. The test simulator switches to that state’s number of questions, passing score and time limit, and your chance of passing is read against the new passing score. Your progress is kept.
How do reminders work?
One reminder a day at most, at the time you choose, and none on a day you’ve already studied. They stop after your test date. Turn them on or off under Settings › Study reminders, and pick the time under Reminder time. They are scheduled on your phone. There are no push notifications.
Why can’t I start a practice without internet?
The questions and their pictures are downloaded rather than built into the app, so they can be corrected without waiting for a new version. Starting a practice or a test needs a connection. If the pictures a practice uses are still downloading, the app asks you to wait a moment and starts as soon as they have arrived. Once you’ve started, losing the connection never interrupts you.
How do I get a question off my mistakes?
Open Review › Mistakes and tap Start. A question leaves your mistakes when you answer it correctly in a practice started from Review. Getting it right in Learn or in a test doesn’t take it off the list, and if you miss it again in Review, it comes back.
How is the chance of passing worked out?
It shows your chance of passing the real test, based on the simulated tests you take in the app. Your latest test counts the most, and the more tests you take, the more accurate it gets. It is an estimate, not a promise.
I updated the app and my progress was reset. Why?
Version 2.0 rebuilt Learn as a route of short practices and rewrote the practice questions, so progress saved by version 1.0 described questions that are no longer in the app. The update resets your progress once and tells you so when it opens. Your settings and your test date are kept. This happens only when the questions change in a way the old progress cannot follow, never on an ordinary update.
How do I start over?
Settings › Reset progress deletes your answers, scores, mistakes, saved questions and test history. Your settings and test date stay.
A question looks wrong. What do I do?
Tap Report a problem on its explanation and tell us what you think is off. We check every report against the state handbook and correct the question if it needs it. Corrections reach the app on its own, with no update to install.
Is the app available in Spanish?
The interface is available in English and Spanish, following your phone’s language. Settings › Language opens iPhone Settings, where you can choose a language for this app alone. The questions are in English for now, and a Spanish set will arrive as a content update.
Is this an official DMV app?
No. DMV Champ is a study app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any Department of Motor Vehicles, state agency or AAMVA. Your state’s current handbook is the authority on the rules.
4. Asking about your data
The app has no account, so the only personal data we may hold about you is what you chose to send us: a report, a message, or an email address you typed in. To see it, correct it or have it deleted, use Settings › Contact us with the topic Privacy or my data, or email contact@cloudforge.fr. Tell us the approximate date and the email address you used, if any, so we can find the record. We answer within 30 days.
The app also reports how it is used, under a random identifier that we cannot connect to you, so we cannot find those reports for you. The Privacy policy says what they include.
