Privacy policy
DMV Champ works without an account and keeps your progress on your phone. This page says what the app sends us, and why.

1. Who we are
DMV Champ (the “app”) is published by CloudForge, a limited liability company (SARL) registered in France at 60 rue François Ier, 75008 Paris, SIREN 937 812 311, VAT number FR57 937 812 311 (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at contact@cloudforge.fr.
The app is available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. This policy covers the app and this website. It does not cover the App Store itself, which is run by Apple under Apple’s own privacy policy.
2. In short
- No account. There is nothing to sign up for. We don’t know your name, and the app never asks for it.
- No tracking. The app contains no advertising, no third-party analytics and no third-party code. It does not track you across other apps or websites.
- Nothing sold. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and never will.
- Your progress stays on your phone. Your answers, mistakes, saved questions, test results and settings are stored on your device.
- What the app sends us. It downloads its questions from our server, reports how it is used and how it performs, and sends us a message when you report a question or contact us. None of it is linked to your name, and none of it includes anything you type unless you choose to send it. Section 4 has the details.
3. What stays on your phone
Everything about your learning is stored locally on your device, inside the app’s own storage:
- your answers, which questions you got right or wrong, and the questions you saved
- your streak and your daily activity
- your simulated test attempts and their results
- your settings: your state, your test date, your language, sounds, vibration and reminder preferences
- the downloaded questions, pictures and test table
The app does not use iCloud or any other sync service, so this data does not follow you to another device, and we cannot restore it for you. Study reminders are scheduled on your phone by the app itself. There are no push notifications.
You can erase your learning history at any time from Settings › Reset progress. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored.
4. What the app sends, and why
The app talks to one server, which we run. Every request carries a random install identifier (section 6) and a few technical facts about your setup: the app version, the iOS version, the device model and your language. None of this identifies you. Like any server, ours sees the network address a request comes from; we keep only the country it points to, not the address.

Question reports and support messages are also delivered to our mailbox as email so we can act on them. If you added your email address, replies come from contact@cloudforge.fr.
The app sends nothing else. It never sends your name, your contacts, your location, your photos or anything from other apps.
5. How the app is used
Since version 2.0 the app reports how it is used. Each report is a short record from a fixed list, made of a few numbers or yes-or-no values: that a practice was finished and how many answers were right, for example, or that reminders were turned on. The records include which questions you answered right or wrong, because that is how we find the questions that need rewriting. They never include anything you type, and they are tied only to the random install identifier, not to you. There is no setting to turn them off. Deleting the app ends them.
6. The install identifier
When it first needs to reach our server, the app generates a random identifier and keeps it on your device. It is not Apple’s advertising identifier, it is not tied to your Apple account, and it is not linked to your name, email or anything else about you. It lets us count installations and limit how many requests one installation can make. Deleting the app deletes it, and a reinstall gets a new one.
7. How long we keep it
- Question reports and support messages: until the issue is resolved and for a reasonable time after, and deleted on request (see section 10).
- Crash reports: the diagnostic is deleted automatically after a year. A note that it arrived, with the app version, is kept.
- Performance and usage data: deleted automatically after a little over a year, except a summary per installation (the days the app was used, the latest version, state and country) that we keep while we run the service.
- Server logs: deleted automatically after a month. They contain no message text, no email address and no IP address.
8. Where it is processed
Our server runs on Amazon Web Services in the United States. Emails to our mailbox are sent through Amazon Web Services in Ireland. If you are in the European Economic Area, this means that what the app sends us is transferred to the United States. That transfer relies on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, which are part of our agreement with Amazon Web Services.
9. Who it is shared with
We share personal data with no one except the service providers that process it on our behalf, under contract, and only to the extent needed to run the app:
- Amazon Web Services, which hosts our server, stores what the app sends, and delivers the emails.
- Apple, which distributes the app through the App Store and collects its own data under its own policy, for example when you download the app or leave a review.
We may also disclose data if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid court order. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy of it. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, these rights come from the GDPR and you may also complain to your data protection authority. If you are in California, you have the rights set out in the CCPA, and we confirm that we do not sell or share personal data as the CCPA defines those terms.
Because the app has no account, the only personal data we can connect to you is what you chose to send us: a question report, a support message, or an email address you typed in. To exercise any of these rights, write to us at contact@cloudforge.fr or use Settings › Contact us in the app and pick the topic Privacy or my data. Tell us the approximate date and, if you have it, the email address you used, so we can find the record. We answer within 30 days.
Usage and diagnostic data are not linked to you, so we cannot find yours on request. Deleting the app stops any more from being sent.
Everything stored on your device is yours to delete: use Settings › Reset progress or delete the app.
11. Children
The app is made for people preparing for a driver’s license knowledge test, which in most states means people aged 15 or older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. The app asks for no personal data at all unless you choose to write to us. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Security
Every connection between the app and our server is encrypted. What the app sends is stored encrypted, in storage that is not publicly accessible. Our server logs leave out anything that could identify you, including your IP address and the text of your messages.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version here with a new effective date. If the app starts sending something it did not send before, this page is where we say so. On October 20, 2026 we added the usage and performance reports the app sends since version 2.0.
